From the vibrant colors of a small Indian village to the cutting-edge world of Human-Computer Interaction, my journey has been anything but conventional. As a child, I was an artist at heart—immersed in painting, dancing, and singing. Creativity wasn't just a hobby; it was how I made sense of the world around me. But life, with its twists and turns, ...led me into the realm of Computer Science and Engineering.
During my engineering days, I discovered that my empathy for others set me apart. While many focused solely on building efficient code, I was fascinated by how technology could be made more human, more intuitive. I was always searching for ways to bridge the gap between innovation and user experience, using my creative mindset to simplify complex programs and make them accessible to everyone.
At just 25, I stepped into the world of academia as a Computer Science professor at a leading engineering college in Delhi. It was here that I first realized the powerful synergy between teaching and technology. But then came the turning point: COVID-19. The pandemic made me rethink my path and reignited a passion that had been lying dormant since my undergraduate days—the desire to design technology with people, not just for them. Machine learning didn’t excite me as much as understanding the human side of technology, so I pivoted my focus toward UX design and Human-Computer Interaction (HCI).
Fast forward to 2022, and I found myself at the University of Siegen, diving into the world of Computer-Supported Cooperative Work (CSCW) and Computer-Supported Cooperative Learning (CSCL). I’m now in the final stages of my Master's in Human-Computer Interaction, where my thesis is pushing the boundaries of how technology can be designed for people with concentration challenges. Beyond my studies, I channel my curiosity and creativity into my role as a research assistant at Fab Lab Siegen. Here, I tinker, experiment, and lead projects that use UX strategies to engage teens from diverse backgrounds in meaningful ways.
Working on EU and Erasmus+ projects has opened my eyes to the power of inclusive design, and how a user-centered approach can transform not just products, but lives. My journey is a blend of art and technology, empathy and engineering, teaching and creating. I’m on a mission to make technology feel as human as possible, and I’d love to connect and share more of my story with those who are curious to explore what that means. Connect with me!
